The commander of The I. G. Brown Air National Guard Training and Education Center presented his Patriot Award to two servicemembers at Spruance Hall here, Nov. 24.

Col. Richard B. Howard presented the award to Master Sgt. Matt Hilborn, broadcast manager for the TEC-TV studios, and Master Sgt. Jason Wolfe, NCOIC of infrastructure management for the communications focal point section, for recognition of their contributions to the center.

Hilborn and Wolfe are among many support personnel at the Training and Education Center whose actions ensure the organization runs smoothly and its mission gets accomplished.

"Matt and Jason are like so many of you," said Howard. "Working behind the scenes, accomplishing many, many great acts of service day in and day out."

"These behind the scenes type, unseen contributions are what motivate the great successes of the Training and Education Center," said Howard. "They come not just from those things seen but, and perhaps most, by those unseen."

"I really appreciate what Matt and Jason do and how they take care of us."

The Patriot Award is Howard's personal award to show appreciation for those he feels have gone above and beyond in their service.
