MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. -- Students and staff at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center held their studies outdoors here amidst the campus's promising weather this week in the strong sunlight and the warm temperatures approaching the 70s. Flowering trees and bird songs were a sign of the coming spring.

The first day of spring is Thursday, March 20, which marks the vernal equinox when night and day are relatively the same length.
