U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Ann Ramey Stokes and Tech. Sgt. Megan Burnett earned recognition as the senior NCO and NCO for the third quarter, respectively, said the Commander of the Air National Guard's I.G. Brown Training and Education Center in an Oct. 10 announcement.

“Please help me congratulate our third quarter outstanding Airmen,” Col. Kerry R. Lovely, said in a campus-wide email. “Thanks to both of you for depicting ‘Excellence in All You Do’ and making the TEC a better place!”

Sergeant Stokes is the director of education as well as the interim commandant for the Chief Master Sergeant Paul H. Lankford Enlisted Professional Military Education Center located on McGhee Tyson Air Guard Base in East Tennessee.

Supervisors said that despite Sergeant Stokes’s short time since returning to Lankford EPME Center on assignment, she graduated 143 NCO academy students and 417 Airman leadership school students; thereby, building those total force, 21st Century Airmen. She expertly managed a sizeable EPME instructor turnover and its associated training by skillfully coordinating with the National Guard Bureau's human resources offices. That effort resulted in a projected 15 percent increase in student throughput capability, supervisors noted.

Sergeant Stokes also managed the Lankford EPME Center’s community service program by facilitating 820 hours, involving 403 students and instructors; thereby, increasing 18 community partnerships that others said demonstrated the Air Force’s Service Before Self core value.

Sergeant Burnett is an enlisted professional military education instructor for Lankford EPME Center.

Supervisors applauded Sergeant Burnett’s service as a guest instructor at the Pacific Air Force’s NCO Academy at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. As such, she increased student throughput and reduced the backlog of Technical Sergeants needing professional military education. The award cited Sergeant Burnett’s efforts as instrumental in revitalizing the Lankford EPME Center In-Service Training Program. She streamlined Joint curriculum and led a two-hour, best practices IST with 50 EPME Airmen.

Sergeant Burnett completed 28 credit hours toward her degree while maintaining a 3.6 GPA. She also coordinated 294 community service hours with 79 volunteers for a community cleanup as well as raised donations for local charities.

The awardees get their photos displayed in Patriot Hall's main lobby. They also receive recognition during the next commander's call assembly, among other awards.
