Senior Master Sergeant Michael J. Krausz is First Sergeant for the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in East Tennessee. As First Sergeant, he reports directly to the Commander to ensure a mission ready force and is responsible for the health, morale, welfare and conduct of all enlisted service members assigned. Sergeant Krausz is the chief advisor concerning the enlisted force of more than 80 full-time active duty Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command staff and more than 4,000 in-residence students who attend Enlisted Professional Military Education and Professional Continuing Education on campus each year. His responsibilities include guidance on enlisted performance reports, awards, decorations, family care and other administrative actions. He monitors compliance with Air Force standards, advises staff on leadership, military bearing, self-improvement, and self-discipline, and acts to resolve problems and complaints.
Before his current assignment, Sergeant Krausz was First Sergeant for the 128th Air Refueling Wing Mission Support Group, Wisconsin Air National Guard, as well as First Sergeant for the wing’s maintenance squadron. Sergeant Krausz has deployed in support of several named operations including Operation Northern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sergeant Krausz is a career field expert in Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems. He enlisted in the active duty Air Force in October 1997 and joined the Air National Guard in 2008. His overseas assignments include bases in Germany and South Korea.
