Course description:  To see a video explaining ICP, Click Here. ICP is for enlisted, officers, or civilians with a primary or additional duty of training within their career field. It is a two week, in-residence course that helps trainers improve their presentation skills, learn how to write lesson plans, discover the benefits of the widely used ISD/ADDIE model, and become familiar with foundational educational theory. Graduates earn three Community College of the Air Force credits in Instructor Methodology as well as enhance their training resume. Students develop two lesson plans with guidance from curriculum developers and teach those lessons to a group using new methods, as well as receive objective feedback on strengths and weaknesses.  Students also learn to effectively evaluate their students and validate if learning at the appropriate level has taken place.

 

 - Public Affairs Readiness Training (PART)

Reporting instructions: Sunday is a travel day. Report to billeting to check in and receive your welcome packet. This will provide report times, building and classroom number. Friday is a full day, so do not schedule flights prior to 4 p.m. EST. McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base base is co-located with Knoxville International Airport. There are no base shuttles, but local taxi services are available to bring you base-side. Course instructors also have transportation and pickup from the airport available, but contact must be made prior to departing from your home.

Credits: 2.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Course description: ANG PART is designed for public affairs practitioners of all ranks - PA Specialists, PAOs, and Executive Officers acting in the role of PAO. Skills covered include an interactive overview of communication planning, media operations, community engagement, and crisis communications, culminating in a Major Accident Response Exercise (MARE) which provides an opportunity to apply learned skills. Students will also receive instruction on PA functional management processes including DVIDS/AFPIMS, ethics, tours/static requests, social media, and MICT/Self-inspection. The final day of the course will include time with the Acting ANG PA Director and Career Field Manager/Functional Area Manager. Students will learn important career field updates and have time for Q&A.

Description: Teaches those in management positions how to properly write and review certain documents and other forms of professional communication. The primary focus is on the specifics of writing 1206's, Federal Award Citations, Memorandums and email communication. This is a two-hour course.
