Approximately 70 members of the Nevada Air National Guard traveled to the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center in East Tennessee for two days of non-stop professional development this week.

According to Chief Master Sgt. Mike Drisdale, Nevada state command chief, the state's enlisted force while technically proficient has a need to balance proficiency with professional development.

“TEC is the perfect place for us to gather and really focus on the professional development of our enlisted force,” Chief Drisdale said. “Everything we need is here: free lodging, state-of-the-art meeting spaces, and a great dining facility. I really wish we could have brought more, and this will definitely be an annual event for the Nevada Air Guard.”

The group attended training seminars on public speaking, bullet writing, mentoring, and unconscious bias, among others.
