The Air National Guard's training and education center will hold five classes for instructor certification in the remaining fiscal year at the campus on McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in East Tennessee.

“So it’s time to take a look at one of the available two-week classes, with the first near the end of January, and schedule your attendance – especially if you need to increase your instructor skills or improve a training plan this year,” said Tammie Smeltzer, who manages the Instructional Development section.

The remaining 2019 fiscal year class dates are ANGC ICP 2019-3, Jan. 28 to Feb. 8; ANGC ICP 2019-4, April 29 to May 10; ANGC ICP 2019-5, June 10 to June 21; ANGC ICP 2019-6, July 8 to July 19; and ANGC ICP 2019-7, August 12 to August 23.

The center’s continuing education office is reached at DSN 266-3859 or 865-336-3859 and through

Airmen enroll through their base force development offices. The program is unit funded now, but Smeltzer said that it is easy on wing budgets, considering those on orders get free lodging on campus, as well as a per-diem rate of $18.90 per day.

The program is popular with operations and support Airmen as well as others who teach lessons within their squadrons and wings on a regular basis. Another perk is that students receive three college credits for completing ICP, and they learn to develop other Airmen as well as save their time and boost mission capability.
