Maj. Gen. I.G. Brown
MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. – The Training and Education Center was established in 1968 as the I.G. Brown Professional Military Education Center, named in honor of the first Director of the Air National Guard, Maj. Gen. I.G. Brown. It had long been the dream of Maj. Gen. Brown to establish a Noncommissioned Officer Academy within the Air National Guard. He envisioned a center located on an Air National Guard base and staffed by Air National Guardsmen. Today it is called The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center and is the heart of leadership training for the Air National Guard. (U.S. Air National Guard file-photo/Released)
