Maj. Gen. I.G. Brown
MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. – The Training and Education Center was established in 1968 and later named in honor of the1st Director of the Air National Guard, Maj. Gen. I.G. Brown. It had long been the dream of General Brown to establish a NCO academy within the Air Guard. He envisioned a center located on an Air Guard base and staffed by Air Guardsmen. Today it is called the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center and is the heart of leadership training for the Air Guard. (U.S. Air National Guard file photo)
