Academy of Military Science
MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. – A U.S. Air National Guard officer candidate receives instruction behind the old dining facility here during his training at the Academy of Military Science. After 38 years and more than 14,600 officers commissioned, AMS moved the six-week course to Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., in 2009 to form a partnership with the Air Force's Officer Training School. The move provided a shared, common experience for all officer candidates in the Total Air Force. (U.S. Air National Guard file-photo/Released)
