Lt. Col. Jacob L. Corbett is Deputy Commander of the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in East Tennessee - the Air National Guard's primary force development center. He is responsible for delivering enlisted professional military education and professional continuing education to more than 4,000 in-resident, Total Force service members per year and typically 50,000 more via blended or distributed learning methodologies. He is also Mission Support Division Chief - ensuring communications, personnel, and campus operations support for staff and students.
Lieutenant Colonel Corbett enlisted with the South Carolina Air National Guard, into the Materiel Management career field, in 1997. He entered active duty upon earning his commission in 2002 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at North Carolina State University. He was assigned to a special operations group as the Officer in Charge of Contingency Plans and Deployments and Execution. In 2006, he returned to the Air National Guard and led as an Installation Deployment Officer, a Materiel Management Flight Commander, a Deployment and Distribution Flight Commander, and a Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander. He also served as Mission Support Director for the Alpena Combat Readiness and Training Center. His overseas assignments include deployments to Kuwait and Latvia. Before his current assignment, Corbett served as Commander of the 110th Logistics Readiness Squadron.
